The promise
Every paid Muze Writer plan ships with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Muze Writer isn't right for you for any reason, reply to your receipt within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund the full amount, no questions asked.
This applies to Writer Monthly, Writer Annual, Writer Founding, Studio Monthly, Studio Annual, and any one-time credit pack purchase.
How to request a refund
Reply to your Stripe receipt email, or write to hello@muzewriter.com with the subject line "Refund request" and the email address you used to purchase. That's it. No survey, no retention pitch, no friction.
We process refunds within 3 business days. Funds typically arrive in your account 5–10 business days after that, depending on your card issuer and country.
What stays with you
Your manuscripts and every word you've written belong to you, whether you pay or not. Export is always free from the Reader plan as .docx, .md, .txt, or .rtf — before, during, or after a refund.
After a refund, your account reverts to the Reader free tier. Your projects stay readable and exportable. You only lose access to AI generation beyond the Reader monthly allowance and the paid-tier credit balance.
Founding plan refunds
Founding Writer subscriptions are refundable on the same 30-day terms. After a refund, your Founding seat is released back to the pool, your account reverts to Reader, and the price-lock no longer applies — if you decide to come back later, you'd come back on the then-current Writer pricing (whether that's Standard $89/year or whatever the offer looks like at that time).
Beyond 30 days
After 30 days, we don't issue routine refunds. You can cancel any subscription at any time from your account settings, and you keep access until the end of the current billing period (monthly or annual). The subscription doesn't auto-renew after cancellation.
Exceptions: if Muze Writer was charged due to an obvious billing error (duplicate charge, charge after successful cancellation, etc.), we'll refund regardless of how long ago it happened. Write to the same address above and reference the charge.
EU and UK consumer rights
This 30-day guarantee sits on top of, and never overrides, statutory consumer rights. EU and UK customers retain a 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, respectively, and can exercise that right by writing to hello@muzewriter.com.
If we're ever slow or unclear about a refund, your local consumer protection authority is the appropriate escalation. We'd rather you reach out to us first so we can fix whatever went wrong.
